New SPORTINGKID Magazine
by Stephanie Oakes
Sports participation is booming. Need proof? Try asking the millions of kids who take to the ball fields and courts each day. One of the many challenges facing the parents of these sports-minded kids is how to educate them in the areas of sportsmanship, teamwork, etc. Research shows children who participate in organized sports at an early age not only perform better academically, but in the game of life, too.
Where do parents turn for answers on training, participation, new products, etc.? Enter SportingKid magazine. Long overdue, the publication was created by sports enthusiasts and award-winning publishers Michael J. Pallerino and Tina D’Aversa- Williams.
From its 'Coaches Corner,' 'Insider Tips' and 'New Product Spotlight' to its features stories that analyze youth sports trends and products, SportingKid will serve as a valuable resource for the parents of kids who are active in youth sports leagues and the growing number of individual sporting activities. It will also help sporting goods retailers, manufacturers and other youth sports marketers to extend their message to today's sports-minded family.
The premiere issue is being distributed to more than 100,000 parents of kids throughout the United States. Each issue will be distributed through major sporting goods retail stores, including Hibbett Sporting Goods, The Athlete's Foot, Gart, Oshman's and sports recreational organizations and public school systems in major cities. Retailers are being added and distribution will expand significantly in 2002.
